Voodoo came to us skeptical — they'd heard we were a tech and product agency, and weren't sure we could capture their irreverent, deeply local personality. The pitch became about proving otherwise. I used their iconic pink pastry box as the central design metaphor, building a site concept that felt like the moment you lift the lid — tactile, warm, a little unexpected. The goal was to stand apart from both the Squarespace-template crowd and the clean tech aesthetic, and put their indie roots front and center.
Tribal communities on St. Paul Island, Alaska needed a way to systematically document ecological change — and share that data in a form scientists could actually use. I led product design for a dual-surface SaaS platform: a mobile app for field surveyors working in remote, often offline conditions, and a web app for scientists needing flexible data collection and dynamic reporting. The design challenge wasn't just usability — it was building a system that respected the communities it served while meeting the technical demands of both user types.
The world's leading classic car auction house had a communication problem: their Private Sales specialists were operating in silos, with no shared visibility into active inventory, client preferences, or deal progress. I led design for a mobile-first internal platform that centralized the entire sales workflow — from car discovery and client matching to specialist-to-specialist brokering and CRM integration. The visual language drew on the brand's existing equity while introducing subtle neumorphic detail work to evoke the finish quality of the cars themselves.
Sea-Bird Scientific builds the instruments oceanographers rely on to measure the world's oceans — but their companion software hadn't kept pace with the hardware. An engineer-led company, they needed a digital framework their internal teams could actually build from: a branded design language system rigorous enough to scale with new functionality, and intuitive enough to serve researchers who didn't have time to learn a new tool. I led the UX strategy and design system definition from the ground up.
Pentagram built something remarkable for Intrinsic: a generative visual identity rooted in inverse kinematics, prescience, and robotic motion. The iconography was precise. The tool was genuinely inventive. But the digital translation hadn't matched the ambition of the brand foundation. My work was to close that gap — extending Pentagram's system across a broader marketing and web ecosystem while preserving what made the original identity worth translating in the first place.
